Currently working on a replica. It will be close but not exact. Wheels are hard to match, but I think I will finish it with a gt wing also.

Last days

These are some of the last pics of the FD in my ownership.


It was really looking good with the rear spacers and I was enjoying it until the end.

Lessons learned... NONE

Money Spent... TOOOO MUCH!

Advice.... keep it standard!

This is the car looking it's best! Spacers are on. The wheels are filling the guards nicely, It is tuned with bags of tyre burning power.

I was driving hard a lot. And still using the car daily. I replaced the clutch and installed the Header pipe and got a new Catalyser.

Polished up, the car looked awesome.

But it was getting time to sell. The cost of ownership in Australia is very high. Insurance is required and is very expensive.

The car was not efficient on fuel and with the daily nature of my driving, I needed something else.
Hmmm. What to do?

This was a long time ago, but I found some pics.

After returning to OZ. The tuning scene is a lot about 19" wheels. I chopped these on to see what they weould look like. OMG! Amazing... Now I had to have some...
But which ones. ADVAN RG II create a mad look , Enkei RP-F1 look almost elegant and the TE-37 are just race inspired.

I did actually choose 19" Enkei RP-F1 with 9 and 10 inch combo in +20 Offset

Photo Shoot

This photshoot was at Currumbin Estuary. I had just installed a new Sony Explod stereo and the HKS pod Filters. I also added a Speco Manual boost guage.

The car was looking good.

By now the only thing I was thinking about was new wheels and or a set of spacers for the rear.
Miguel sent me some Nissan ones. I was waiting for a friend to machine some wheel studs to suit.



The colour changes so much in different lighting conditions. It is hard to explain. Bronze/Grey.

Touge Attack

My brother and I headed out early one morning to take some on road shots of the roach. Looks good on the street but it needs rear spacers to fill the guards.

Apart from that it looks smooth and there is some speed in these images so the car is remarkably flat on the road.
Turn in isn't so good. the 225s complain though under duress as the rubber is very old now. It is hard anyway.

Without even a buff yet, I couldn't wait. I had to get some pics.

The car looks awesome and the attention it receives is truely amazing. People leaning out to take pics. And a lot of hellos.

I am happy with it. the look is fantastic and the car drives really well too at the moment.

I would still like a GT wing as the front is wide and the rear is narrow, but the "cockroach" as I now call it is definately cool!

First Pics of the finished Body

Here is the beast. I made a custom Flip type number holder for the front. It flips up but doesn't go back down at the moment.

This pic shows the colour best. Bronze Gray Metallic. It really contrasts well with the RAYS anthracite wheels.

Smooth rear is not intentional but looks OK i guess. IMO still needs a GT Wing.

Polish Time

He is the start of polishing and the final parts of installation.

I just hope I can get it down the driveway without scratching the front!!!!

My father was a champ with the paint gun. Very cheaply and quickly painted. It is a daily/drifter after all.

Paint!

C-West style bumper finished with Mesh inserts.

Bonnet painted ready for installation.

Car body was painted in insane temperatures due to time constraints. Colour is a tiny shade off.

You can see the C-West bumper. its a copy from Sydney. Do NOT get one. the panel fit is attrocious.

Nikko

A trip to Nikko saw the FD in action on the famous Iro Hazzaka! Check out Initial D for this.
No Jumping line for me but the limits were explored.

Cedar Avenue was nice too.

I got bored with the silver so I started to paint the whole car black... I thought it would be cool but it didn't actually look as good.

While attending an event in Ebisu. I got these discounted in preparation for the Veilside D1 front bumper.

Razo Knob

Another trip to Autobacs saw the purchase of this little beast. a RAZO ball gear knob.

Fitting was tricky but a light shift.

Daikoku

A trip down to Daikoku with Miguel's FD, Dino and Gio's GT-Rs.
